The Environment Trophies is a contest of ideas inviting the people of Nice to propose any action aimed at making Nice greener, cleaner, quieter, more energy-efficient, more accessible to all, more eco-friendly, and finally, more innovative.
This participatory democracy approach allows residents of Nice to contribute as active participants in improving the living environment of their city, fostering projects and actions for a greener, cleaner, quieter, more energy-efficient, and more accessible city: a city imagining its environment of tomorrow.
During the first edition, the people of Nice showcased their ingenuity with projects like “the wooden path that leaves traces” or “Azzura Lights,” two key ideas that were realized and implemented this year.
-The objectives of this contest of ideas:
Encourage the involvement of the people of Nice in executing projects related to sustainable development;
Raise awareness among the younger generation about sustainable development issues;
Improve the living environment.
The 4 concerned categories:
Individual category
Youth category (under 18)
Education category
Associations category.
The evaluation criteria are based on:
The quality of the application file
The environmental impact of the project
The economic and social impacts of the project
The financial quality of the project
The innovation and creativity of the project
The exemplary nature and reproducibility of the project in the City of Nice territory.
30 projects have been selected:
“Individual” category: 5 projects
“Youth” category (under 18): 2 projects
“Education” category: 10 projects
“Associations” category: 13 projects
They will be granted either technical assistance or financial support ranging from €1000 to €3000. In return, the winner commits to implementing the action within one year.
