Nice in Models: In the White City, an Exhibition at the Urban Planning Forum

Latest News

On the occasion of the Open House Days of Architecture Agencies 2014, on June 6 and 7, the City of Nice joins this national action, organized by the Order of Architects, with an exhibition presented at the Urbanism Forum.

This exhibition aims to better acquaint the general public with the profession of architect. It brings together a selection of nearly seventy architectural, urban planning, and design models created for public competitions, project calls, or specific studies, and preserved by the City of Nice.

The choice to highlight the model was made because it is an emblematic tool of architects’ work, a means of expression unique to them.

For the general public, the model offers the particular pleasure of understanding architecture immediately, as it is comprehensible to all (unlike more technical representations, which can sometimes be more challenging to approach).

“In the White City” (in reference to the predominant color of the displayed models) offers a journey through a scaled-down landscape of the city as it is envisioned and built.
