This year marks the 67th anniversary of this event, which first took place in February 1948. The 2015 edition of the Nice Jazz Festival will be held from Tuesday, July 7 to Sunday, July 12.
Each evening, no fewer than six stages will transform the Jardin Albert 1er, now an integral part of the Promenade du Paillon, into a concert hall. An open-air venue where no fewer than 30 artists will bring life and vibration to the Théâtre de Verdure and on the Masséna stage.
The pianist and swinger Jamie Cullum will be the patron of this edition and will perform at the closing of the first evening on the Masséna stage.
For Sébastien Vidal, the artistic director confirmed for the third year, “the music of the body is at the heart of jazz,” to which the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, adds: “This is the true essence and philosophy of this music.”
The rest is more straightforward: “This festival should remain a great popular celebration accessible to everyone”: a thought for the 45,000 spectators recorded last year, for whom ticket prices will not change and will remain set at 35 euros per entry?
The novelty of the year will be the gospel concert, which will take place on Sunday, July 12 at 11 am (free entry).
