Nice Plogging: a group collects the city’s litter

Latest News

In Nice, a group gathers several times a week to collect the city’s litter.

The principle of this activity, originating from Sweden, is to move your body (walking or running) while collecting trash.

Nice Plogging was born from a need to take action and raise awareness of the problem in neighborhoods. Initially, the meeting was once a week, but as proof of their success, the frequency of trash collection has intensified, going from once to three times a week.

Weekly meetings:

  • Saturday at 10 am at the lighthouse pier
  • Sunday at 10 am at Opéra Beach
  • Wednesday at 6:30 pm in various neighborhoods (Garibaldi, Musiciens, Gioffredo, Libération, Nice-West…)

No registration is required, and gloves and bags are provided.

On Wednesday evening, Nice Premium joined the group to clean the Carras neighborhood. Upon arrival, we were all surprised by the amount of litter on the road, in the park, and on the beach rocks. A real shift in awareness is necessary. For the members, it’s a pleasure to clean their city, and at the same time, share good habits for the planet. As for passersby, they are intrigued by this initiative and come to congratulate the participants.
