According to a recently published study, Nice recorded a much higher tourist attendance compared to recent years.
The year 2024 was prolific for the capital of the Alpes-Maritimes. Indeed, Nice welcomed 25.7% more visitors in 2024, according to data from Civitatis. This leader in French-speaking tourist activities attributes this increase to the growing popularity of the destination, especially in summer.
According to Civitatis, a platform specializing in booking excursions and activities in French, Nice experienced a particularly lively summer season. The month of August marked a peak in attendance. This renewed interest is part of a favorable trend, driven by mostly positive reviews. Consequently, 65.4% of clients who booked an activity in Nice via the platform gave it a maximum rating of five stars.
The clientele is diverse, although predominantly made up of couples (45.5%), followed by groups of friends (17.4%). These figures illustrate Nice’s appeal to different types of travelers, attracted by its landscapes, cultural heritage, and climate.
Data That Speaks for Itself
The figures provided by Civitatis corroborate those of the Tourism Office presented in recent weeks. It could be noted that the average accommodation occupancy rate was 78%, an increase of 2.5 points compared to 2023. Visitors came mainly from the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland. The opening of new flight routes and major sporting events, such as the Grand Arrival of the Tour de France and the Olympic Games, have enhanced this appeal. With projects focused on winter tourism and sustainable development, Nice aims to consolidate this growth for the years to come.
