Night work in the tramway tunnel: replacement buses planned

Latest News

From April 27 to May 22, in the evening, the tram lines 2 and 3 will be partially interrupted to allow maintenance work in the tunnel. A bus service will take over between the Magnan and Port Lympia stations.

The Régie Ligne d’Azur announces a series of maintenance works in the tramway tunnel. These operations will take place from Sunday, April 27, to Thursday, May 22, inclusive, starting from 10:30 PM until the end of the service. They only concern the evenings from Sunday to Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, the traffic will remain unchanged.

During this period, lines 2 and 3 will not run between the “Magnan” and “Port Lympia” stations. The terminus will be temporarily moved to “Magnan” for weekday evenings. In replacement, a bus service will ensure the connection between “Magnan” and “Port Lympia”. The schedules of these shuttles will be coordinated with those of the tramway.

On Sundays April 27, May 4, 11, and 18, the interruptions will concern another section. The trams on lines 2 and 3 will stop at “Jean Médecin” from 10:30 PM. The Régie Ligne d’Azur advises travelers to switch to line 1 of the tramway, between “Jean Médecin” and “Garibaldi”.

At all other times, the two lines will operate normally. On Fridays and Saturdays, no changes are planned.

To minimize inconvenience, an information campaign is underway. Posters, audio announcements, screens in stations, websites, and social media are being utilized. The transit authority encourages users to plan their trips in advance during this period.

The works are intended to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the tunnel, according to the maintenance requirements set by the network.
