At the beginning of the year, three people from Nice, Sandra Betti (singer), Eric Nicolino (musician), and Gil Marsalla (musician and head of a production company), introduced us to their new version of the Niçois anthem “NISSA LA BELLA” in tribute to the 100th anniversary of the hymn’s creation by Menica Rondelly in 1904.
Unfortunately, it was also the time when the Asian tsunami disaster struck Phuket, a sister city of Nice, full force.
Our three Nissart then decided that all profits from the sale of this single would go directly to the victims on the ground. Today, this has become a reality as a sum of 2,000 euros has just been sent to an association in Phuket headed by a volunteer from the Vésubie valley, Philippe Polakowski, whose thank-you email excerpt to Sandra, Gil, and Eric you can read below.
Following the Bischoffsheim school whose efforts sent more than 3,000 euros to assist the victims, this new initiative proves that the people of Nice have a big heart.

Excerpt from Philippe Polakowski’s email:
We wanted to thank you for your donation. Your support is particularly touching as you are the first Niçois association to support us.
It will be our pleasure to initially send a thank-you message along with a detailed explanation on the importance of associations like yours, especially from Nice, which does not rush to big NGOs but prefers to trust smaller organizations like ours, which are much more effective on the ground.
We thank you on behalf of the children of Koh Phi Phi whom you will help, for the trust you place in our association, and for your solidarity from the Niçois hinterland.
