Breton trip for the Eaglets! A week after their victory in the Côte d’Azur derby against Monaco (2-1), OGC Nice wants to continue on a positive path. A far from easy trip awaits the Niçois: Brest. Franck Haise’s men need points to climb up the Ligue 1 standings and catch the right train. As a reminder, the Gym is currently in 8th place. Moise Bombito’s teammates will then host a new European match next Thursday against Twente.
As for Stade Brestois, they are fully enjoying their European season, highlighted by their first participation in the Champions League. The start of the season has been more challenging in Ligue 1, although the Bretons are on the rise in recent weeks. Having been part of OGC Nice as a player, then as a coach (2010-2011), Éric Roy has been at the helm of Brest since January 2023.
Return of Dante, Ndombele, and Ndayishimiye to the squad
It’s the bad news of the week for OGC Nice! Suffering from a hamstring injury, Hicham Boudaoui joins the infirmary. The Algerian midfielder will be absent at least until the next international break in November, according to Franck Haise at a press conference this Thursday. On their side, Terem Moffi and Morgan Sanson continue their rehabilitation.
But the Nice coach also brought his share of good news! Returning to group training, Tanguy Ndombele, Youssouf Ndayishimiye, and especially Dante are candidates for a place in the squad for this trip to Brest. Just like Jonathan Clauss, who had withdrawn at the last minute during the derby due to a small calf issue.
On the Brest side, Romain Del Castillo and Abdallah Sima are injured and therefore unavailable for this match. Suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon last July, Bradley Locko’s season is already over.
