OGC Nice: Dante set for a new extension

The Brazilian defender who arrived on the Côte d’Azur in 2016 is expected to extend his stay with the Gym for another season.

On August 22, 2016, Dante signed for OGC Nice alongside Mario Balotelli, Younès Belhanda, and Wylan Cyprien to strengthen a team that had finished fourth the previous season. Seven years later, none of these players remain under contract with the Côte d’Azur club, except for the Brazilian central defender. At 39 years old, the player who became the captain of OGC Nice during the 2017-18 season still shines.

Although he showed some shortcomings in his game at the beginning of the season, El CommanDante subsequently proved that he remains an indisputable choice in Nice’s starting 11 (28 matches for 1 goal and 1 assist). Having already been extended twice in the past (the last extension was in March 2022), Dante, who had already announced that he would not end his career at the end of the season, is expected to extend again with the Gym.
According to L’Équipe, he would extend his love affair with OGC Nice for another season, further cementing his legendary status at the club.
