This Sunday evening, the Aiglons are traveling to Lille to play on their turf, as part of the 34th and final day of this Ligue 1 season. Although the Gym no longer has anything to play for, the Nice team wants to finish the championship on a good note. All the pre-match information can be found below.
The last away game of the season for OGC Nice. This Sunday evening, the Aiglons will play their last match of the 2023/2024 season, at the Pierre Mauroy stadium of LOSC. Guaranteed to finish in 5th place, the Nice team has nothing more to play for in terms of standings. However, they want to conclude with a victory, a few days after the defeat against PSG at the Allianz Riviera. The kick-off for the match is set for 9 p.m.
On the other side, the Dogues are playing for their direct qualification for the next Champions League. If they succeed against the Gym, LOSC would secure its place in the Top 3 of Ligue 1, thus avoiding the playoffs. In the first leg, both teams were held to a draw (1-1), at the opening of the championship, in August 2023.
Bard suspended, Dante uncertain
Besides Sofiane Diop, Francesco Farioli will have to do without Melvin Bard. The defender is suspended after receiving a red card against PSG on Wednesday. The disciplinary committee has sanctioned him with a two-match suspension. Additionally, Nice’s captain, Dante, is uncertain for this match. “There are a few situations we will assess, including that of Dante, who has a knee problem,” the Italian coach revealed in a press conference.
The Lille coach, Paulo Fonseca, has several absences to deal with in his squad. Having undergone meniscus surgery during the week, goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier is logically absent. Tiago Santos (concussion protocol) will not play in this match either.
The probable line-ups:
Lille: Mannone – Diakité, Alexsandro, Yoro, Ismaily – Bentaleb, André – Zhegrova, Gomes, Haraldsson – David
Nice: Bulka – Mendy, Dante (or Ndayishimiye), Todibo, Bard – Sanson, Rosario, Thuram – Cho, Moffi, Boga
