On social media, particularly on Twitter, the penalty called by M. Wattellier for a foul by Todibo on Lacazette generated numerous reactions.
Nice supporters reminisced about a previous match between the two clubs, which had also been marked by decisions favoring OL.
Sports journalists/football specialists were also particularly shocked by the decision made 3 minutes before the end of regulation time.
Some took the opportunity to draw parallels with Lyon’s last match against Marseille.
