Before resuming Ligue 1 on the weekend of August 7th, the initial dates for the preparation of the Azurean group for this 2022-2023 season have been released.
On June 27th, the Nice players will return to the Jean Luciano Boulevard center to resume collective training under the guidance of Christophe Galtier.
A few days later, on July 2nd, the Aiglons will play their first match of the season against Lausanne-Sport (Swiss D2). This friendly match against Ineos’ other club will be played in Nice, as will the next one a week later, on July 9th, against the Belgians of Cercle Bruges.
After these two matches on the Côte d’Azur, the OGC Nice players will fly to Portugal on July 14th to face clubs of a different level on July 15th and 16th. The Gym will first face SL Benfica, a Champions League quarter-finalist and second in the Portuguese championship. The next day, they will take on the Londoners of Fulham FC, champions of the English D2 and promoted to the Premier League next year.
After playing these two friendly matches, the Gym will stay in Portugal to play two more matches, on July 20th and 23rd. However, the opponents for these two matches are still unknown. Finally, the last match of this preparation will be played in France, on the last weekend of July, and the opponent has not yet been announced.
With the announcement of these preparation dates, there’s even more eagerness to see our Aiglons back on the field!
