Quickly questioned after the disastrous start of the season for the club from the Côte d’Azur, the Swiss coach has regained some credit with his leaders in recent weeks. Nonetheless, the situation remains tense and the Swiss made it known.
Two days before the trip to Lyon, the last match before the World Cup, Lucien Favre appeared in front of the press to answer questions.
When asked about his future, the 65-year-old coach responded that he didn’t know if he would still be in position after the World Cup (December 28):
“I don’t know,” he stated. “I have experienced many situations as a coach. I can’t answer you. I continue, I work, and that’s it.”
Favre remains cautious, aware that INEOS could potentially be charmed by another coach during this World Cup break. Notably considered is Mauricio Pochettino, who was replaced by Galtier this summer at PSG and is currently without a club.
