As every Sunday, we take a look back at the latest news regarding the summer transfer window of the Gym. This week’s agenda includes the first friendly match of the Aiglons and the departure of Khéphren Thuram.
OGC Nice is finally back on the field! This Wednesday, Franck Haise’s men played their first preparatory match at the Aiglons’ training center. On this occasion, the Niçois faced Lausanne, another club in the Ineos group, as has been the case for several years.
Several players stood out, notably Mohamed-Ali Cho and Evann Guessand. The two forwards scored in this game. However, the Aiglons were eventually held to a draw by the Swiss club (2-2).
Thuram joined Juventus, movement for Todibo
The official announcement was expected, and it finally took place a few days ago. After five years in red and black, Khephren Thuram joins Juventus Turin. The deal was finalized around a sum of €20M, plus some bonuses.
On the other hand, interest in Jean-Clair Todibo is intensifying. The defender has an exit pass and wishes to join an ambitious club. Juventus Turin has reportedly initiated preliminary discussions. Aston Villa, West Ham, and AC Milan are also interested. One thing is certain, the Niçois will not join Manchester United due to UEFA’s multi-ownership rules.
Progress in the Jonathan Clauss case
The French international is reportedly targeted by the Gym. According to Nice Matin, the Nice management is looking for a new right-back. However, OGC Nice may have been dissuaded by the €8M demanded by OM for Jonathan Clauss. The Niçois might look for other options for this position.
According to Foot Mercato, the Aiglons are targeting Teden Mengi. The English player is at Luton Town, recently relegated to the Championship (2nd division in England). The central defender’s value is estimated between €12-14M.
Finally, OGC Nice officially announced the extension of Tom Louchet’s contract on their social media. The versatile midfielder is now tied to the Nice club until 2027. This signing clearly illustrates the desire to make maximum use of young talents from the Nice training center.
