OGC Nice vs. Angers SCO: Nice looking to bounce back

Latest News

The Eaglets continue their marathon week with the reception of Angers tonight (7 PM) with the goal of extending their unbeaten streak against an unpredictable opponent.

Stéphane Moulin’s group, which followed up a victory against Montpellier (1-0) with a solid draw at Nantes (1-1), found an opening with a header from Pierrick Capelle (1-0, 51st minute). A header also allowed Claudio Beauvue from Caen to equalize (1-1, 62nd minute), denying SCO their fifth win of the season.

Nice remain on a draw at Guingamp (0-0), which was their sixth match without defeat. With a solid defense and Walter Benitez in top form, the Eaglets have the second-highest total of away points, just behind Paris. They also boast the fourth best defense in the championship: the team has conceded 14 goals after 15 rounds. Only PSG (7), Montpellier (11), and Reims (13) have been more solid since the start of the season. Not to mention that Nice suffered heavy losses against Dijon (0-4) and Paris (0-3).

However, they have one of the weakest attacks in Ligue 1 with only twelve goals scored. Mario Balotelli, who has yet to score this season, symbolizes the weakness of Nice’s attack.
