From June 8th to July 15th, the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis and the city of Nice are partnering with ecosystem to organize a large charitable collection of old mobile phones.
Ecosystem, a partner of the Tour de France for 5 years, is teaming up with the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis and the city of Nice for a large charitable collection of old mobile phones. The goal is to collect 46 million unused mobile phones. The eco-organization works towards extending the lifespan of electrical equipment and reminds the French that electrical and electronic equipment can be repaired, donated, or recycled.
Why donate your old phone?
Ecosystem will donate up to 100 refurbished mobiles to the benefit of the Galice association, which helps people in great difficulty. This major operation aims to offer a concrete and local solution to residents wanting to make a charitable and environmental gesture with their old mobiles. The association guarantees donors that each mobile will be wiped of all personal data it contains, in the strictest confidentiality. The refurbished phones will be donated during an official ceremony at the Tour de France village in Nice. They will then be repaired or recycled in compliance with environmental standards in France. Five schools in the commune are also mobilizing and organizing a phone collection involving 1,318 students. Young ambassadors can convince their peers to make the right gesture.
