As the reigning champion since the London Games, the Antibes-based swimmer was unable to replicate her performance, losing in the final of the 400-meter freestyle.

Elodie Lorandi (4’35″49) was surpassed by Canadian Aurélie Rivard (4’29″96) and Australian Monique Murphy (4’45″09).

Having already secured a “bronze” in the 100 meters, Lorandi nonetheless ensures a 20th medal for the French delegation.
