Patrice Dandreis, president of PEP 06, received the Legion of Honor. His efforts facilitated the modernization of the structures and the creation of innovative programs, particularly for supporting children and families.
On Thursday, March 13, 2025, Patrice Dandreis, president of PEP 06 (Pupils of Public Education), received the insignia of Knight of the Legion of Honor. The ceremony was held in the presence of Charles Ange Ginésy, president of the Alpes-Maritimes Department, who presented the award.
Patrice Dandreis dedicated his career to education and the support of individuals with disabilities. A former teacher and deputy director of the SEGPA section at Port Lympia College, he joined PEP 06 in 1997 before becoming its president in 2006. His efforts have enabled the modernization of structures and the development of new support programs.
Under his guidance, the association established renovated medical-social facilities, a specialized health center, a network of school life assistants, and a day care center for the elderly in rural areas. PEP 06 has also been recognized for its commitment, winning more than ten health project calls.
A life dedicated to serving others
After retiring in 2022, Patrice Dandreis returned to the presidency of the association in May 2024. He is currently leading a project to rehabilitate the mountain center in Beuil, to offer adapted vacations for individuals with disabilities and their caregivers.
During the ceremony, Charles Ange Ginésy highlighted his essential role: “Since his arrival at PEP 06, he has been able to combine educational commitment and social action, modernizing structures and integrating innovative solutions for supporting individuals with disabilities.” Éric Ciotti also emphasized “a life characterized by generosity and transmission.”
Patrice Dandreis, deeply moved, shared this distinction with his loved ones and colleagues. “Together, we were able to make progress. PEP 06 will continue this mission with the same energy and ambition.”
