On February 1st and 2nd, 2025, the Play Azur Festival returns to the Palais des Expositions in Nice. This year, two iconic worlds are in the spotlight: Pokémon and the wizarding world. More than 24,000 visitors are expected for this event dedicated to pop culture, video games, and sciences.
For this edition, the Play Azur Festival immerses visitors in two well-known worlds for fans of geek culture. On one side, the Pokémon universe will be the focus of many activities. Participants can take part in card tournaments, Poké Ball creation workshops, concerts, and exclusive meetings. Jean-Marc Anthony Kabeya, the voice behind the French Pokémon theme song, and Julien Bardakoff, creator of the French names for Pokémon, will be present.
On the other side, a new space comes to life: the Wizard Festival. Inspired by the world of Harry Potter, it will feature a Sorting Hat ceremony, potion workshops, and encounters with Kelyan Blanc, the French voice of the famous wizard. A giant spider and a Troll will accompany the immersion into this fantastic universe.
A festival with multiple facets
The Play Azur Festival spans 14,000 m² and offers six different worlds. From YouTube to cinema, scientific popularization, Asia, Comics/Manga/Comics, Video Games, and Medieval Steampunk, there is something for everyone. More than 300 free activities will enliven the weekend. Cosplay contests, video game tournaments, and K-pop shows will be organized.
As for guests, about sixty personalities are expected, including Stéphane Excoffier, the French voice of Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece), as well as local content creators like Gatsu Sensei and Luckson Mouton.
