The citizens have made their decision. They turned out in large numbers throughout this April 22nd at the voting stations. Two candidates out of the twelve needed to be selected. Nicolas Sarkozy, the UMP candidate, and Ségolène Royal, the PS candidate, will face off in the second round on May 6, 2007.
Nicolas Sarkozy (29.5%) leads Ségolène Royal (26.3%) while François Bayrou (18%) finishes third ahead of Jean-Marie Le Pen (11%).
