The voting day is approaching and, at the same time, the temperature of the debate keeps rising among some of the candidates present. If “political correctness” is no longer in vogue, should we then resort to invectives?
In this case, Marion Maréchal Le Pen reacted to the statements made by Christian Estrosi, who on radio Alpes-1, last Wednesday, declared that “the National Front would add to the drama we’re experiencing today with terrorist attacks, a regional drama.”
For her rival, this statement is an “indecency!”
Her reaction is severe:
“If the candidate of the Modem-UDI-LR-Peoples coalition has accustomed us for months now to bewildering comments, here stupidity competes with indecency!
Christian Estrosi – or the communicator who whispered this marvelous language element to him, since he had already said pretty much the same thing last Sunday on France 3 – is he even aware of his words?
The “drama” of a Region presided over by the National Front would thus be somehow equivalent to a terrorist attack that claimed the lives of 130 innocents? Or its continuation? An FN presidency would “add” to it?
Electoral panic is causing Mr. Estrosi to lose his reason. His comments are lamentable. Ten days before the first round of voting, I urge him to regain his senses.”
