This poor performance at home and an uncomfortable ranking (second to last with one victory against four defeats) require some explanations regarding the journey of the Nice Pitchounettes in the challenging Federal 1 championship, where they are seen as novices.
We asked Lydie Verruchi, the coach of the violettes, for a diagnosis: “It’s true we lost a match by an unequivocal score (0-15). However, I do not want to draw overly negative conclusions: our performance was relatively honorable against the group leaders, my players were very brave in defense, but we still lacked experience in certain key positions and did not have enough attacking possessions.
But I want to stay positive: overall, it is positive despite this new defeat.
As for the future, we hope to stand out in the return matches and improve our ranking.”
