Saint-Laurent-du-Var is preparing to celebrate the 2nd edition of the Port Festival this Friday, June 9, thus marking the official start of the summer season in the city.
Organized in collaboration by the municipality, the “Port 17” association, the International Yacht Club, and the Laurentins Economic Actors Federation, this Port Festival promises to be a memorable evening for residents and visitors.
The marina of Saint-Laurent-du-Var will be transformed into a lively pedestrian zone, open from 6:00 PM to 11:30 PM, allowing guests to stroll and dine in a friendly atmosphere. Local restaurateurs will take this opportunity to offer, in addition to their usual menus, dishes, tapas, or a drink at attractive prices.
This year’s theme for the festival will be “Celtic and Rugby World Cup”, referring to the upcoming 2023 Rugby World Cup which will soon be passing through Nice.
The program includes artisan stands and entertainment. Troupes and groups of artists will roam the streets, transporting spectators into the Celtic universe and the world of rugby. Among the participants, we will find the Company Aouta, the Danz’Arte Dance School, Roseline, the Saint-Laurent-du-Var Rugby Club, a Celtic Music Band, and an Irish Dance School.
Practical Information
To facilitate access to the festivities, visitors will have the option to park in one of the three parking lots near the marina. The first parking is located at the exit of the port, entering through the entrance after the Via gas station. The second parking is at the usual entrance to the port, providing access to the new parking lot. Finally, the third parking is also located at the usual entrance to the port and by continuing straight towards the shipyard, it will be possible to park along the quay.
Additionally, free shuttles will be provided every 30 minutes to facilitate transportation to the festivities. To get there, simply head to Place Jean Médecin (177 av. Général Leclerc) between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM. Return trips will be ensured at the Holiday Inn roundabout between 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM.
