The play She Told Me Nothing, inspired by a real feminicide, will be performed on November 13 in Nice to raise awareness about violence against women. This free event is part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The play She Told Me Nothing will be presented on November 13 at 8 PM at the “La Cuisine” hall of the National Theater of Nice. This poignant drama, created by the author and director Hakim Djaziri, is inspired by the testimony of Hager Sehili. She recounts the murder of her sister, Ahlam Sehili, a victim of feminicide on April 17, 2010. Through this work, Djaziri exposes the horror of violence against women. Ahlam’s story represents that of many women killed solely because they are women.
13 Days of Awareness in Nice
The play, performed by the Collectif Le Point Zéro, is not recommended for those under 13. It is part of a series of awareness events organized by the city of Nice. Around the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, celebrated every November 25 and supported by the UN. From November 13 to 26, various events are scheduled to raise awareness, inform, and support women’s rights.
Maty Diouf, deputy mayor of Nice and delegate for the fight against discrimination and for women’s rights, will be present for this evening. Since 2008, the city of Nice has been implementing a policy to combat gender-based and domestic violence. The “Orange Day” program, awarded in 2017, aims to strengthen information on the rights of victims and also to promote gender equality.
