Shopping Promenade Riviera: A New Lease on Life in 2025

Latest News

The Shopping Promenade Riviera mall, in Cagnes-sur-Mer, is entering a phase of major renovations. Goal: to enrich its commercial, leisure, and service offerings by the end of 2025.

On April 24, 2025, the official launch of a significant renovation program at Shopping Promenade Riviera was marked. This project involves a budget of 28 million euros, of which 20 million has already been invested. The work, scheduled until August 2025, aims to strengthen several areas: commerce, leisure, dining, health, and culture.

The transformation first plans for the installation of the largest European flagship (department store, editor’s note) of JD Sports. The construction began in February for a public opening in August 2025. “JD Sports Shopping Promenade resembles the one on the Champs-Élysées. We are increasing our offerings and providing over 2,000 product references. We are also increasing our full-time staff by 50%,” announces Jean-Christophe Priston, the brand’s manager in France.

In the ready-to-wear section, the Bershka and Pull&Bear brands from the Inditex group are expanding their sales areas by 40% and 55%. Work will begin in May 2025 and will be completed in October.

Leisure, dining, health: an expanded offering

The leisure world will also be redesigned with the creation of a 5,000 m² space on three levels. Karting, bowling, billiards, karaoke, and an arcade will make up this new area expected in December 2025. It alone is expected to attract 500,000 visitors per year and create 30 jobs.

The center will also feature a 1,000 m² Fort Boyard adventure. The site will open its doors at the end of 2025, after work that started in the spring.

The dining area will also see improvements with the arrival of a dozen new brands. Among them: a carnivore street food concept, a French taco chain, a fish burger specialist, and a brand of artisanal cookies.

As for services, the pharmacy in the center will expand by 44%, reaching 600 m². Alicia Laplaine and Maryline Bataillon, managers, explain: “We are implementing all the missions available to us: pharmaceutical consultations for pregnant women, patients on oral anticoagulants, asthmatics, or patients on anticancer drugs as well as rapid orientation tests and vaccinations. We want patients to feel welcomed, listened to, not just ‘served’.”

Lastly, art will continue to be showcased through the permanent route and the addition of five new murals by contemporary artists in 2025.

With this series of changes, Shopping Promenade Riviera is preparing a new chapter in its history and aims to better meet the expectations of its visitors.
