OGC Nice Boules won the fourth day of the Ligue Sport-Boules M1 last weekend at its Gé Gallaratto boulodrome. A clear victory against Plaine de l’Ain allows the club to stay close to the leader.
On Saturday, the Nice team did not miss their home meeting. On their own turf, OGC Nice Boules won 9 to 3 against Plaine de l’Ain in a final marked by the players’ commitment and consistency. The score reflects the solidity of the Nice team, capable of withstanding pressure and delivering in key moments.
The team led by Didier Abrate had to stay focused against a well-organized team. Nicolas Bourrin managed to keep the suspense by canceling four times, but the Nice team found the resources to widen the gap. Emmanuel Bilon and Frédéric Ascensi were effective in pointing, while Luc Ayral and Jérémy Micoud excelled in shooting.
The atmosphere in the boulodrome supported the players, exemplified by Luc Ayral’s gesture of saluting the stands after the victory.
A steady course and points that matter
This victory marks an important milestone in the club’s season. Since the beginning of the competition, the Nice team has alternated between strong performances and necessary reassessments. They started with a success against Plaine de l’Ain (12-7), then suffered a setback against Génissieux (9-12), before correcting course against Décines (13-0).
This journey allowed Nice to reach the top of the group, tied for victories with Plaine de l’Ain, but ahead due to their head-to-head record. In the semi-final, the Nice team eliminated Génelard (13-9), while Lagnieu surprised Saint-Vulbas (11-9).
With 72 points in the general standings, Nice remains ten points behind the leader Plaine de l’Ain (82 points), but now has a comfortable margin over third place, Métropole de Lyon (48 points). This dynamic places the Azuréens in a good position ahead of the fifth stage of the national circuit.
The next stage will take place in Lyon on April 25 and 26. A new test, away this time, for a team aiming for consistency and progress throughout the season.
