The summer holidays started last Friday. During this summer break, the City of Nice is carrying out works. These will allow for the renovation, beautification, modernization, and greening of Nice’s public schools.

During the summer break, schools take the opportunity to give themselves a fresh look. As such, the municipality is committing over 5.4 million euros to works, with 110 school projects being undertaken. These mainly involve waterproofing, repainting, facade renovations, changing or renovating window frames, changing boilers, replacing sanitary facilities, IT equipment and cabling, interventions in classrooms and dining halls, and the renovation and greening of schoolyards. Furthermore, the installation of ceiling fans in classrooms and the soundproofing of dining halls will also continue.

The continuation of the school cafeteria renovation at the Magnolias school represents a financial commitment of 2,075,000 euros. The first phase of window frame replacement and renovation work at the elementary school of the Château amounts to 255,000 euros. The continuation of the renovation of the South facade of the Bellanda kindergarten represents 250,000 euros. Painting and changing window frames of the interior facade of the Saint-Roch school complex represent an investment of 215,000 euros. Finally, the greening of the playgrounds at the elementary school of Bois de Boulogne amounts to 95,000 euros.

Thanks to these investments, the 30,000 students of public schools, along with teachers and municipal staff, will start the school year in the best possible conditions.
