Ten years of Jazz in the Principality of Monaco

Latest News

If there is one musical event to remember this fall, it is the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival. In place since 2006 under the high patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Festival continues to grow in the principality and its surroundings. To the delight of fans, the festival will exceptionally be longer this year, running from November 23 to December 6, still within the legendary Opera Garnier.

It is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and is undergoing a rejuvenation: longer, more varied, more eclectic, and younger, with most of the artists being young jazz talents from around the world, without necessarily being beginners.

The organizers aimed to bring a touch of modernism to the event with the newcomers to this musical style while retaining some artists who have been invited in the past. This will provide numerous variations of Jazz, which increasingly blends with different musical genres such as hip-hop, rock, or African music.

Programming over two weeks

As previously mentioned, the festival is more extended this year, spanning two distinct weeks. From November 23 to 28, you will have the opportunity to discover the new hopefuls of Jazz with Richard Manetti, Cory Henry, the band Gogo Penguin, and Thomas Enhco, the young prodigy who composed and recorded his first album at just 14 years old.

These Jazz rookies will not be alone; each of them will be accompanied on stage by Jazz stars. We will notably see Selah Sue, Marcus Miller, and Joshua Redman. As for surprises, the famous composer and musician Avishai Cohen will perform with the Monaco Philharmonic Orchestra.

From December 3 to 6, we will be able to hear the most beautiful voices of Jazz. The Italian Paolo Conte, Melody Gardot, Gregory Porter, and Barbara Hendricks will be the stars of this second week of concerts. Joining them will be Mario Bondi, Daby Touré, Hugh Coltman, and Kyle Eastwood.

To enjoy or discover these numerous artists, you will need to spend between 50 and 80 euros, depending on the evening you choose.
