Latest News

The association “Si le choeur vous en dit,” in partnership with the City of Biot, is organizing the 1st Biot Choir Festival, which will feature 3 concerts on Friday, October 10, Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12, 2014.

On the program: Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem on Friday evening, Mozart’s Requiem on Saturday, both in the Church of Sainte Marie-Madeleine at 8:45 PM. Additionally, 5 local amateur choirs will come together for a free choral forum on Sunday at the Pierre Operto Sports Complex.

“With this festival, we wanted to both bring together amateur groups for the pleasure of performing together, which is the principle of the choral forum, and also to allow audiences to hear choirs with great experience, almost professional, such as Vocal Côte d’Azur from the PACA Regional Choir and the choir Musiques en Jeux,” explains Olivier Augé-Laribé, artistic director of the Biot Choir Festival.

For this first edition, the programming of the two paying concerts remains in the classical repertoire with the two Requiems, by Fauré on Friday, October 10, and Mozart on Saturday, October 11.

The choral forum, the third event offered by this festival, will bring together 5 local choirs from Biot, Chateauneuf, Cannes, Levens, and Tourrette-Levens, offering a wide range of musical styles.

This Friday, October 10, Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem will be performed by the PACA Regional Vocal Choir and the Sympho Sophia orchestra under the direction of Nicole Bianchiseront.
