The Prefect of Alpes-Maritimes, Bernard Gonzalez, together with Christian Estrosi, held a press conference last Friday in which several significant measures were announced as part of the fight against the spread of the coronavirus. Reminder of the main announcements:
- Gatherings of more than 10 people are prohibited in parks, gardens, quays, and beaches.
- Bars, restaurants, shops selling food products, hygiene products, and everyday items like “supermarkets,” shops whose main activity is the sale of take-away drinks, and the sale of take-away meals like “snacks” must now be closed between 12:30 AM and 6:00 AM.
- The sale of take-away alcohol after 8:00 PM is prohibited and the consumption of alcohol in public places is banned after 8:00 PM throughout the department.
- The broadcasting of music in public spaces by bars and restaurants, but more broadly any broadcasting of amplified music in public spaces, is prohibited.
- Public events are now limited to a maximum of 1,000 people.
Regarding the obligation to wear masks in public spaces, mayors will have the option, depending in particular on population density, to request sectorization.
In collaboration with the Departmental Council, new measures will be taken to limit the risks of contamination in nursing homes to protect the most at-risk populations.
