Red, green, self-managed, and feminist political movement, the Alternatifs will be part of the initiatives for women’s rights organized in Nice by the Collectif 06 for Women’s Rights, as they are every year.
More than ever, the defense of women’s rights and the demand for gender equality between women and men are current issues. Violence, precariousness, underemployment, wage inequality, harassment, and inequality in the sharing of domestic tasks are some of the themes that illustrate male domination. Sexist clichés persist, as well as the low political representation of women, particularly in our department as seen in the general council.
On the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, the Alternatifs also express their solidarity with people in struggle, particularly in Tunisia and Egypt, where they are leading a genuine revolution, especially the women of these countries who are mobilized for their rights, freedom, and emancipation.
The Alternatifs’ candidates (Bernadette Bouchard, Florence Ciaravola, Anne-Marie Dubois, Mathieu Glasson) in the cantonal elections, both men and women, will be part of the gathering on March 8 in Nice.
