Until August 30, 2011, a detachment of the Republican Guard is stationed in Cagnes-sur-Mer.

These forces, made up of 6 horses, 2 republican guards, 4 reinforcements from the departmental gendarmerie, and 4 reservists, carry out daily patrols in the natural parks of Vaugrenier, La Valmasque, and L’Estérel.

Perfectly adapting to these natural environments, these men, mounted on their horses, carry out missions for the prevention and suppression of environmental offenses, combating delinquency, as well as public information and preventive surveillance of the forest area against fire risks.

Initiated for the first time this year, this partnership between the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes and the Republican Guard could be renewed next year.
