At the beginning of the week, the New Year’s ceremony of the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of Alpes-Maritimes took place. It was the last one with Philippe Manassero at the head of CDOS06.
Philippe Manassero, president of CDOS06, presided over this event in the presence of Charles Ange Ginésy, president of the Department. Many officials, athletes, and volunteers were also present. This edition was of double importance: the celebration of the 50th anniversary of CDOS06 and the last official intervention of Philippe Manassero, after 12 years of presidency.
The past year, marked by the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games of Paris 2024, was highlighted. The passing of the Olympic Flame in Alpes-Maritimes and the competitions organized in Nice allowed the territory to shine.
During the evening, several personalities were honored for their contribution to sport. Among them, Alice Modolo, world vice-champion in freediving.
Philippe Manassero emphasized the importance of these commitments. “These distinctions honor women and men who, through their journeys, illustrate the values of sport: effort, solidarity, and self-surpassing.”
A New Era for CDOS 06
In his farewell speech, Philippe Manassero expressed his gratitude: “Together, we have demonstrated that sport is an essential lever for development, health, and education for all.” He also announced the launch of the “Continuons les Jeux” initiative. An ambitious project aiming to strengthen the role of sport in Alpes-Maritimes.
This ceremony brought together nearly 300 guests. A symbol of the bond that unites the CDOS06 and the territory of Alpes-Maritimes. With this event, the institution opens a new chapter in its history.
