Until October 28, the Nice City Library network is honoring the children’s literature author Susie Morgenstern. With her world-renowned fame, the Nice-based author has made a significant mark in the literary world with her rich and dense career. It is therefore only natural to highlight her masterful work through exhibitions, round tables, or other events that will delight young and old alike.
On this day, Friday, October 14, Susie Morgenstern, a recipient of the Legion of Honor in 2016, receives the National Order of Merit. She will be presented with the award by Roger Brieu, Officer and Knight of the Legion of Honor, holder of the military medal, seven military values, and a former air force officer. Also present will be Jean-Luc Gagliono, Deputy Mayor in charge of Education, Culture in schools, Books, Fight against illiteracy, Nice Identity, and Leisure for all.
After a life-sized Cluedo investigation that took place on Wednesday, October 12 at the Camille Claudel-Pasteur library, discover the continuation of events honoring the star author of children’s literature. Round table, theatrical adaptation, public readings, manuscripts, and exhibitions are offered to you until October 28.
Susie Morgenstern: An Author in the Spotlight
- October 14 at 5 PM: ROUND TABLE WITH SUSIE MORGENSTERN: Louis Nucéra Library. An interactive meeting with our favorite author. An exciting exchange is anticipated with Susie Morgenstern’s manuscripts on display and preserved at the Nice library. An event in partnership with the Nice City’s Fight against Illiteracy initiative.
- October 15 at 3 PM: MY 18 EXILES, A TRIBUTE SHOW TO SUSIE MORGENSTERN: Louis Nucéra Library. An adaptation of our dear Susie’s autobiography by the Robert Loves Jocelyne Company. A beautiful tribute reflecting Susie’s eventful life through her 18 stages described in her work. Suitable for ages 11 and up.
- October 28 at 10 AM: LOUD READING WORKSHOP: Raoul Mille Library. A chance to enjoy the stories of Susie Morgenstern read aloud. Suitable for ages 5 and up.
