After a short period of absence, the Cinémathèque of Nice resumed its activities this Thursday, February 16th, at the Megarama Nice Vauban cinema.
A space dedicated to the 7th art
Christian Estrosi had committed to maintaining the activities of this institution which is among the top five Cinémathèques in France, recognized nationally for the quality of its programming and cherished by enthusiasts of the 7th Art.
From February 16th to March 14th, the Cinémathèque will offer 46 screenings. On the schedule, 2 films per day from Tuesday to Sunday inclusive, with rates that remain as attractive and unchanged (subscription €2.65/year, €3/per screening and €2/per screening for students).

On the occasion of the city of Nice’s bid for the title of European Capital of Culture 2028, you will be able to travel through screenings of numerous decidedly European films.
- For its launch, the Cinémathèque of Nice chose one of the most iconic films in world cinema, “Citizen Kane” by Orson Welles.

- Additionally, you will have the opportunity to see Romanian, Greek films, as well as a Hungarian film that was awarded at the Venice Festival in 2020, and is previously unseen in theaters worldwide.
- Also note the date of March 4th, the Cinémathèque will offer an exceptional Masterclass by Patrice Leconte around a retrospective of his films.
“Off-site” screenings
The 7th Art has a prominent place in Nice, so it was essential that the City of Nice support the continuation of the Cinémathèque’s activities with “off-site” screenings.
- This summer, its summer season, which has been meeting great success for 2 editions now, on the Ile de Beauté square in the Port district.
- A monthly screening at the Lino Ventura Theatre starting from September 2023.
