In connection with the festival, the Cinémathèque is also offering a film cycle titled “Made in Greece,” showcasing recent works from the new Greek cinema. Among them, Poor Creatures, the latest film by Yórgos Lánthimos, promises to captivate fans of bold contemporary cinema.

“Carte Blanche” for Personalities

It also features The Double Life of Véronique by Krzysztof Kieślowski. Finally, the surreal Being John Malkovich will be presented.

The Cinémathèque also pays tribute to several iconic figures of the seventh art:

  • Mohammad Rasoulof, Iranian filmmaker, with the screening of two of his works, A Man of Integrity and There Is No Evil, echoing the release of his latest film, The Seeds of Wild Fig, in competition at the last Cannes Festival.

Greta Gerwig will be honored with the screening of her hit Barbie. She will also present Frances Ha, a film she co-wrote and starred in. This selection is related to the tribute to David Bowie at the last Cannes Festival.
