As a community of all human solidarities, the Department is the leader of childhood policy in our territory.
By establishing the Departmental Observatory for Child Protection, the Department once again demonstrates its commitment to act concretely and effectively for the children and families of the Alpes-Maritimes, ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has the best chances for individual, family, and social development, in coordination with all concerned stakeholders.
107 million euros are thus allocated this year in favor of Childhood.
Serving as a steering body that includes all institutional and associative partners, the Departmental Observatory for Child Protection will collect, examine, and analyze data related to children in danger in the department and will share with its members the conditions for carrying out prevention and protection missions in this area.
The Departmental Observatory for Child Protection will report on the proper execution of the objectives of the Departmental Childhood Scheme and will make proposals and provide opinions on child protection policy in the Alpes-Maritimes.
This expert, coordinating, and proposal-making body, which brings together all actors involved in child prevention and protection, will work within the four commissions to develop expertise, diagnosis, and proposals in favor of children.
By adopting its new five-year plan on September 22, 2016, the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Council continues its commitment, from foresight to protection, including prevention, by offering renewed support and attention to each of the 230,000 minor children in the region and their families.
