The Eagles of Nice lose again.

Latest News

After five consecutive defeats in the Ligue Magnus, the Nice hockey players tried to find a path to victory to regain confidence before a crucial end of the season for staying in the first division. Their match against Rouen ended in a defeat.

Another one. And unfortunately for the red and blacks, it was not a victory. Yet, the Nice team put their heart into it. Trailing behind in the first period due to a goal by Thinel in the 2nd minute, they showed courage and managed to turn around the situation that was not in their favor. A significant feat for a team at the bottom of the rankings.

The Disillusionment

Trailing by one point, the Nice team took advantage of the second period to turn the tide. Lacheny and Carpentier scored, Koudys did as well for the outsiders, resulting in a 2-2 tie before the final period.

A goal, the goal of hope. The Eagles took the lead in the very first minute, suggesting a promising 19 minutes ahead. However, with a man advantage after an expulsion, the Rouen team transformed. An equalizer by Coulombe, followed by a lead by Miller, made it 4-3. The Nice team tried to hold their ground until the end, using every possible means, in hopes of at least securing a draw. In the final moments, the goalkeeper even attempted to add an extra player. A gamble that backfired. Very much so, as a fifth point into the empty net dashed Nice’s hopes.
