The Congress of the Southern Mediterranean Regional Union of Firefighters (*) was held in Contes at the end of last week, presided over by Lieutenant Pierre Binaud, President of the Southern Mediterranean Regional Union, in the presence of General Controller René Dies and Colonel Grégory Allione, President of the National Federation of Firefighters of France.
The delegates received a visit from Deputy Eric Ciotti.
Two days of exhibitions, round tables, and exchanges on the commitment of these exceptional men and women.
During the debates, the speakers condemned the increase in the number of assaults suffered during interventions, with a 150% increase in assaults since 2008.
In the Alpes-Maritimes, 32 interventions were subject to projectile throwing, verbal or physical assaults in 2018.
