Christian Estrosi, in the presence of Eric Ciotti and Rudy Salles, deputies elected in the districts of Nice, will inaugurate this Saturday at 10 a.m. the rehabilitation works of the forecourt and the façade of the former passenger building of the Gare du Sud.
This is the third inauguration of significant importance following the stadium and the green corridor. It comes at the right time during the election campaign, and there is no doubt that the Mayor of Nice, rightly, will claim this project as his achievement.
This will be the first act of the rehabilitation plan for a larger perimeter that is expected to provide this area with a more integrated appearance with the whole district that opens onto the rear part of the station, which is also under construction.
This redevelopment operation, covering an area of nearly 2,000 square meters, has thus allowed the creation of the new Raoul Mille library within the confines of this building constructed in 1892 by the architect Prosper Bobin and listed in the additional inventory of historical monuments.
The forecourt of the historic building as well as the surrounding public spaces and roadways have also been remodeled over an area of 3,200 square meters.
Come and discover the first realization of this major urban development operation that will provide the neighborhood with a new and much-anticipated living and entertainment space!
