A consultation for the Alpes Maritimes as part of the National Assembly on Migration, an inter-associative initiative of national scope (https://eg-migrations.org), will be held at 5 p.m. in the CMCAS hall, 16 route de Turin.
This session will bring together stakeholders from the 06 region who are involved in migration issues with the following objectives:
1. Fully involve migrants, supportive and committed individuals, associations, and collectives in a radically different reflection and co-construction from the policies implemented by public authorities.
2. Build a coalition gathering as many civil society actors as possible to denounce the unacceptable situations occurring on French territory and to mobilize regarding the government’s upcoming bill.
3. Collectively develop proposals to demonstrate that another migration policy is possible and that alternative policies and practices exist.
4. More broadly, create a movement of public opinion to oppose an erroneous, guilt-inducing, and too often xenophobic view of migration and migrants.
Many territories are already engaged in the process, and it is accelerating:
Bourg-en-Bresse, South Ardèche, Carcassonne, Millau, Marseille, Caen, La Rochelle, Dijon, Drôme-Ardèche, Nîmes, Toulouse, Languedoc, Blois, Loire, Salindrenque Valley (Cévennes), Nord and Pas de Calais, Strasbourg, Lyon, Sarthe, Chambéry, Paris 10, Rouen, Poitiers…
This consultation will be guided by the EGM-06 organizing committee and will proceed in accordance with the national methodological framework.
