La Librairie Masséna Around the World has won the Vision d’Avenir prize in the Open the Store of Your Dreams contest. This contest, organized by FAIRE with several partners, rewards Nice-based retailers for their creativity and local engagement.
A literary project that takes you on a journey. Located in the heart of Nice, La Librairie Masséna Around the World was born in June from the collaboration between Marie Serra, Dominique Barbat Garcia, Thomas Collet, and two bilingual literature enthusiasts, Amy Trowell and Amandine Salagnac. A sister store of Librairie Masséna, this unique place offers a selection of books in several languages. Various cultural events are organized there to bring together lovers of words and cultures.
Amy Trowell and Amandine Salagnac, who manage the new space, were awarded the Vision d’Avenir prize presented by the FAIRE program. “We envisioned the bookstore as a provider of escape. This prize is an honor and will allow us to continue offering the people of Nice a place of sharing and belonging. A home away from home,” the two managers add.
A contest to boost local commerce
The Open the Store of Your Dreams contest aims to support innovative commercial initiatives. The winners receive €2,500 to use on the FAIRE platform, strategic training sessions, and, in addition to that, La Librairie Masséna Around the World will benefit from a year of support from local organizations. Among them is the Federation of Nice Trade and Crafts (FCNA).
This prize highlights the involvement of Nice’s retailers and enhances the city’s economic dynamism. “Local shops create social bonds and make Nice shine. Supporting these talents is essential for our municipality,” emphasizes Magali Altounian, deputy mayor of Nice.
With this recognition, La Librairie Masséna Around the World aims to become an essential space for the bilingual community and literature enthusiasts. A place where every visit is an invitation to travel.
