Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 6:30 PM to 9 PM, a bike ride on the Mathis Road will be organized. Access will be exceptionally closed to cars. A unique opportunity to pedal under the stars while admiring the city’s lights.

The ride will start from the south entrance of the Voie Mathis on the Magnan side, next to the fire station. Cyclists will follow a loop that will take them to the entrance of the Malraux tunnel, before returning to their starting point. During the entire event, the Mathis Road will be closed to car traffic in the west-east direction.

This initiative is part of the national campaign “Cyclists, shine!”, which aims to promote lighting and cyclist safety. Open to everyone, the ride aims to raise awareness among participants about the importance of being well-equipped for night riding.

Activities for everyone at the starting point

In Magnan, information booths will welcome participants. They will cover topics related to bike safety, local projects to promote sustainable mobility, and actions taken as part of the Metropolitan Bike Plan. The associations La Maison du Vélo and Nice à Vélo will also be present to engage with the public.

Lime and Pony operators are participating in the event by providing self-service bikes. One hour of free use will be offered for the occasion.

This nighttime ride aims to be friendly and family-oriented. It represents a great opportunity to rediscover Nice while adopting responsible and safe practices for urban mobility. Don’t forget your helmet and lights.
