The meeting of the Azurean companies

On Thursday, December 1st, at the Espace Méditerranée of Acropolis in Nice, the 4th Edition of the Entreprenariales took place, jointly organized by the UPE06 (Union of Business Owners of A-M) and the CGPME (General Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises). A few weeks after the meeting for associations, it was indeed the main event for businesses in the Alpes-Maritimes region.

70 booths were set up with representation from major companies that economically sustain the department. On this first day of December, top CEOs from the region and communications managers could share ideas, envisage projects, and compare perspectives.

The booths competed in modernity: plasma screens, comfortable sofas, and chairs added to the elegance of the hosts, with men in fitted suits and women in neat and delicate suits—a daring summary, it was a “City” atmosphere right in the heart of Nice at the Espace Méditerranée of Acropolis.

Cyril Gayet, one of the heads of the “Wall Street Institute/Langues du Monde” booth, a company specializing in language learning and improvement, took advantage of the Entreprenariales to distribute brochures: “We offer services suitable for all types of people. We can be useful for individuals as well as for companies that would like to have employees who are somewhat more proficient in the Shakespearean language.”

Amélie, Julien, and Marion visit this exhibition. They appear to be business executives, blending into the surroundings. Just an appearance: “Our temporary contracts are ending. We are here to hand out our CVs. It’s a chance to meet senior executives from local companies, talk to them, a sort of job interview in a friendly setting. It costs nothing. A dialogue is established and who knows. It’s always more effective than a mere letter which does not distinguish us from other job applicants.” At the same moment, Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin declared a wish to experiment with anonymous CVs, Marion, Julien, and Amélie were striving to make their applications as non-anonymous as possible.

From this day, it’s worth noting the roundtable on Excellence in Daily Life with Mgr Sankalé, the starred chef Jacques Chibois, and the director of the CHU of Nice, Jacques Romatet, and the signing of the agreement between the UPE 06 represented by its president Christian Tordo, the CGPME 06 represented by Frédéric Jourdan-Gassin, and Fier d’Entreprendre represented by its president, Maître Marielle Walicki.
