On Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26, the Mercantour National Park is organizing its Nature Festival. On this occasion, both adults and children can participate in numerous guided hikes or attend conferences and exhibitions offered free of charge. The theme of the year? “Let’s Search for Little Critters,” a nod to the international release of the film “Minuscule.”
For the event, nearly 20 activities are being offered across all the valleys of the Park, providing a wealth of engaging activities and discoveries in the heart of nature.
For its seventh edition, the Nature Festival has chosen the national theme “Let’s Search for Little Critters.” The activities will focus particularly on the search and identification of ground or flying insects such as butterflies.
In this context, in the heart of the Roya-Bévéra valley, the students from the Tende school will invite attendees to the inauguration of their “insect hotel,” a delightful project completed during the school year with a park ranger.
Everyone interested is invited to meet at the Musée des merveilles plaza on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 2 p.m.
Another major event of the Festival: the inauguration of the exhibition by photographer Cédric Robion, on Saturday, May 25 at the Maison Valbergane. Born in Valberg, the artist is a seasoned naturalist who has always taken pleasure in observing animals in their natural habitat and capturing them up close without being noticed. The photographer will be present at the inauguration and will offer a conference at 4:30 p.m.
Nature walking enthusiasts can also participate in a family hiking conference on Sunday, May 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
