The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis is extending its recycling instructions to include all plastic packaging.

Latest News

This initiative stems from a call for projects by Citeo, for which the Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur was a laureate in 2018, as part of the metropolitan Territorial Climate-Air-Energy Plan.

As of June 1, 2019, all residents of the metropolitan territory will now be able to sort 100% of packaging!

Until now, only plastic bottles and flasks, steel, aluminum, and cardboard packaging could be disposed of in the yellow bin.

With the extension of sorting instructions, citizens can also place in the yellow bin rigid plastic packaging (such as pots or trays), flexible plastic packaging (such as films, bags, and pouches), and small aluminum items (such as coffee pods or milk bottle seals).

By 2022, the national objective is to enable the simplification of sorting actions for all French citizens.
