They have created symbols evoking a shared, immaterial memory, independent of walls and defining an identity that transcends today’s architecture and that of tomorrow, creating signs representing the values that from Pasteur, Saint-Roch, and l’Archet will continue into Pasteur 2.
The artists worked in the room from January 2006 to March 2007. They chose to combine interior and exterior views, shapes and colors, portraits and landscapes, intimate encounters and green or urban views. These setups create unexpected, mysterious, and often poetic associations.
Far from definitively resolving the enigma of hospital identity and healthcare challenges, their work highlights the complexity of this immensely human universe where life’s essence often plays out: its extreme fragility, failures, and miracles that depend as much—if not more—on the attention of the men and women who work there as on the technology that serves them.
