Her election is a continuation of the work carried out by the South Region to bring Europe closer to its territories.

Renaud Muselier, president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, welcomed this appointment: “It is an immense pride for our Region. This strategic position will allow her to achieve concrete results for the South Region and the territories she represents.”

Originally from Nice, Magali Altounian has been the 16th deputy mayor since 2020, responsible for European Affairs and the promotion of the city.
