This Monday, the Occitan Cultural Center País Nissart e Alpenc Nissa Pantaï is kicking off its 2020 session. Activities will finally resume for all the people of Nice, both adults and children, beginners and advanced.

Dance, language courses, shows… The back-to-school program of Nissa Pantaï has just been announced. But many might wonder, given the name that is difficult to pronounce, what is Nissa Pantaï?

Nissa Pantaï, the 100% Niçois event

Founded on July 1, 1971, it is a center chaired by Cristòu Daurore with the aim of promoting and disseminating Occitan culture, specifically the Occitan language, Nissart (Niçois), and Alpin/Gavot.

On September 14, the courses and workshops of the Nissa Pantai association start. On the program are six Niçois language courses, two Alpin courses, two dance workshops, and one singing and music workshop. Not to mention the cooking workshops. A whole organization to learn everything about the language, cultures, and local traditions.

The activities of Nissa Pantaï

For all students who wish to put some lessons into practice, Nissa Pantai has set up six activities, including an Internet radio channel in Occitan, Niçois, and Alpin: Ràdio Nissa Pantai . Created in 2008, this allows the presenters to hone their Niçois language skills through various subjects (culture, sport, etc.).

For enthusiasts of Niçois theater, they can join the theatrical troupe Chorma Nissa Pantai, founded in 2001. The same goes for the Còr de Nissa Pantai for fans of Occitan music and songs.

A guided tour of the city in Niçois is also offered, with six different routes to fully explore Nice and uncover all its secrets.
