“The health indicators for the Alpes-Maritimes department remain extremely concerning. The incidence rate recorded on August 12, 2021, stands at over 600 per 100,000 inhabitants (the alert threshold being set at 50 per 100,000 inhabitants) and the positivity rate at over 6%,” the prefecture reported in a statement.

The next steps are a series of measures: a health pass will be mandatory for access to shopping centers larger than 20,000 m²*, prohibition of alcohol consumption in public spaces and amplified music activities.

Finally, the requirement to wear a mask will be extended to establishments, places, and events where access is subject to the presentation of a health pass, starting Monday, August 16, 2021.

One can imagine the delight of the anti-vaxxers who will be protesting this Saturday.
